THE PLAY OF THE WEEK

I had a friend once tell me that a room full of business owners must be full of arrogance and attitude.

I said, you have it completely backwards.

The most humble people I have ever worked with are business owners. And you want to know what we talk about when we get together? Our biggest screwups.

That is the whole idea behind my podcast, Stop Stepping in Stupid.

Business owners scrolling through LinkedIn watching everyone else’s wins. The awards. The growth numbers. The success stories. And they start to feel behind.

But here is what you are not seeing. The late nights. The payroll stress. The deals that fell apart. The decisions they wish they could take back.

You are comparing your behind-the-scenes to their highlight reel. And that is not a fair fight.

The truth is, your biggest mistakes are not your failures. They are your greatest lessons. The moments you fell flat on your face are the ones that made you sharper, tougher, and better.

Stop measuring yourself against someone else’s best moments. Measure yourself against who you were yesterday.

GET ON THE ICE

Three things to do this week:

  1. Write down your biggest business mulligan. What did you learn from it that you still use today?
  2. Stop scrolling and comparing. What you see online is the highlight reel. Not the whole story.
  3. Own your blooper reel. It is your most valuable asset.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“Don’t compare yourself with other people; compare yourself with who you were yesterday.”
